I have attended the fourth annual award ceremony of Namma
BengaLuru and the presentation before the final gathering. It is fabulously organized event.
What I could observe is , the awardees , outstanding in
their field of service maintain an arms distance in extending mutual congratulations. The reserved status
maintained with an expectation from the other to take the first step for an introduction
with shake hand, kept the gap among the awardees till the end of the function. Here I can quote with a wish and confidence
that the quote would be taken in positive spirit, the example of Mr. Manivannan
and Dr. M A Salim.
I felt if the organizers could arrange a small get together
or a high tea and establish a friendly
relation among the final awardees, that may help a lot to share the best brains
experiences mutually among them and at large the society may benefit from their
mutual team thoughts and work.
This is commonly seen human behavior, among economically upper
strata of society citizens to maintain a distance from one another, and hence a
small step by Namma Bengaluru Balaga (team)
as suggested here may go a long way in taking out the gap there due to status symbols.
The selection was from a list of 61000 service minded people,
nominated by different citizens from the nook and corner of our Bangalore. It
was short listed to 51 finalists by an honorable jury consisting of highly
talented people of citizens in Bangalore. At the end it was the golden moment
for the eleven outstanding, dedicated to serve, citizens of Bangalore, from the
list of finalists, to be declared and awarded the prestigious NAMMA BENGALURU AWARDS in
recognition of their extraordinary contribution to the city of Bangalore.
The juries, processing the nominated 61,000 entries and
short listing them to 51 have certainly done a herculean task, that needs
admiration. And might it not be that too
easy to declare eleven awardees from these 51 gems.
All the organizers, juries, nominees, awardees deserve the
appreciation from each of us in Bangalore.
